This collage is a triptych entitled “Ask More Than One Kind Of Question” created using the playing cards from a game of Lexicon, some pages from The Independent newspaper and a marker pen. Below is a largescale image of each piece of the triptych together with an image of the three pieces combined at the end.
This is a blog devoted to collage. I love the fact that collage provides a really immediate way of creating unique and surreal combinations of objects and ideas that don't seem as though they have a right to go together, but do. Max Ernst said that: "collage is the noble conquest of the irrational, the coupling of two realities, irreconcilable in appearance, upon a plane which apparently does not suit them". I like that, and I am discovering more and more that I love collage!
I'm a photographer (actually!) - if you'd like to know a bit more about what else I get up to, please check out my web links and Facebook page below.
